Activity 1: What do I see?

This activity helps students explore the concept of assumptions by observing photographs and progressively revealing the identity of key civil rights figures. The aim is to encourage students to reflect on how assumptions can shape their views of others and why it’s important to seek out the bigger picture.

Activity 2: Seeing and Being – Picture Yourself Bingo

This activity encourages students to explore their identity, group belonging, and how they perceive others. Through a series of movement-based questions, students express their preferences (e.g., cats vs. dogs) and discover similarities and differences with peers. It fosters communication, cooperation, and helps build a sense of community, while encouraging reflection on how they relate to others who share or differ in their preferences.

Teacher-Led Discussions

These Teacher-led discussions focus on understanding how we group and judge people, which can lead to discrimination. Discrimination can take personal or structural forms, harming individuals or communities. Specifically, antisemitism is a form of discrimination targeting Jewish people based on negative stereotypes or prejudice. The key message is to rethink how we judge others and promote respect and kindness towards everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs.
